Recently, China Quality Certification Center (CQC) issued a notice on the implementation of the new standard for external power adapters, chargers and built-in switching power supply products for household and similar appliances.New standards GB/T 4706.1-2024 "Safety of Household and Similar Electrical Appliances Part 1: General Requirements" and GB 4343.1-2024 "Requirements for Electromagnetic Compatibility of Household Electrical Appliances, Electric Tools and Similar Appliances Part 1: Emission" (hereinafter referred to as "the new standard").It will replace GB 4706.1-2005 and GB 4343.1-2018 (hereinafter referred to as "the old standard") respectively.
The main revised contents and implementation requirements of the new standard are as follows:
01 Main revision contents of the new standard rules
1. Standard substitution: the new version of the standard replaces the old version.
2. Electromagnetic compatibility test: The electromagnetic compatibility test item is optional. When the applicant chooses electromagnetic compatibility certification, he must choose GB 4343.1-2024 and GB 17625.1-2022 standards.
02 new standard implementation requirements
★ Implement GB/T 4706.1-2024 standard requirements.
1. From the date of notification to July 31, 2026, the certification applicant may voluntarily choose to apply for certification according to the new version or the old version; From August 1, 2026, the certification body will adopt the new version of the standard to carry out certification and issue the new version of the standard certification certificate.
2. For the products that have obtained the certification certificate according to the old standard, the certification applicant can submit an application for certificate change to CQC from the date of publication of the notice, and accept the testing carried out by the laboratory for the difference test items between the new and old standards, complete the product confirmation according to the new standard, and issue the new standard certification certificate. The conversion of the old standard certification certificate should be completed before August 1, 2026. The certification certificate that has not been converted within the time limit will be suspended; If the certificate conversion work has not been completed before November 1, 2026, the old version of the standard certification certificate will be revoked.
3. It is suggested to change the edition at the same time as the GB 4343.1-2024 standard.
★ Implement the standard requirements of GB 4343.1-2024.
1. From the date of notification to May 31, 2026, the certification applicant may voluntarily choose to apply for certification according to the new version of the standard or the old version of the standard; From June 1, 2026, the certification body will adopt the new version of the standard to implement certification and issue the new version of the standard certification certificate.
2. For products that have obtained the certification certificate according to the old standard, the certification applicant can submit an application for certificate replacement to CQC from the date of issuance of the notice, complete the product confirmation according to the new standard, and issue a new standard certification certificate. The conversion of the old standard certification certificate should be completed before June 1, 2026. The certification certificate that has not been converted within the time limit will be suspended; If the certificate conversion work has not been completed before September 1, 2026, the old version of the standard certification certificate will be revoked.
3. It is suggested to change the edition at the same time as the GB/T 4706.1-2024 standard.
